This is a 7.5.x Start-up screen that I touched up with photoshop. It is an image of the cubist Mac OS face with a 3D look and a pale yellow hue. I made it into a ResEdit resource.
-All you have to do is open the start-up screen, and a copy of your system with ResEdit.
-Click on the start-up screen image and copy it, C.
-Now open up the pict resource in your system and paste the image, V, into the box with the same resource ID. When asked if you would like to replace pict with same ID say yes.
-Take the system out of the system folder and replace it with the system copy. Put the old system in a safe place in case you decide to change it back. Restart.
I know that there are a lot of start-up screens out there, most are just too busy for my taste. I'm one that likes that original start-up smiley guy, but thinks that it is just a little too flat. This modified version perks it up a bit. I hope you like it. If you want to know how I did it, write to me and I'll be happy to tell you.
